What Is Infrared Asphalt Repair:

Infrared Asphalt Repair is a specialized technique designed to address imperfections in your parking lot.

By utilizing infrared technology alongside hot-mix asphalt, this method achieves a seamless restoration of your asphalt pavement.

This solution offers a more durable repair option compared to traditional removal and replacement methods, and it's also environmentally friendly.

As property owners and managers, you may have begun to notice that winter weather has not been particularly forgiving to your asphalt parking lot.

During the winter months, your parking lot may develop issues such as potholes, alligator cracks, and uneven surfaces. These complications arise from the freezing and thawing cycles, along with the impact of harsh chemicals and deicers.

However, there’s no need to worry; these issues can be effectively resolved using infrared technology. Infrared asphalt repairs can be performed throughout the entire year.

Cost-Effective Asphalt Repair:

Infrared asphalt repairs present the most economical and sustainable solutions for maintenance.

Typically, these repairs begin at around $1,500.00 and take only half the time required for conventional removal and replacement methods.

This approach utilizes less asphalt compared to traditional repairs and demands fewer on-site resources.

As a result, the total expenses are reduced, and those savings are subsequently passed on to the customer.

Infrared Asphalt Repair Process

**Preparation of Damaged Area**

Your contractor will meticulously clean and prepare the repair area by removing all debris. This step is crucial to the success of any asphalt maintenance project. If the area is not properly prepared, it risks failing again.

**Heat Up Area**

Next, the asphalt surface is heated using an infrared asphalt machine. The duration of heating depends on the weather conditions and the thickness of the existing surface. The deeper the asphalt and the cooler the air, the longer it must be heated. The target temperature for the asphalt is 325 degrees.

**Installation**

Once adequately heated, the asphalt crew will remove any loose debris and apply hot-mix asphalt to the affected area. If necessary, they will also incorporate a rejuvenator into the asphalt, which is only done if the existing material shows signs of oxidation.

**Final Step**

After the new material is applied, the asphalt crew will level the area and compact it using a vibratory roller or plate. This compaction process ensures a seamless finishe edge. This compaction prevents water infiltration.
